PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 33/1990 (APPRAISEMENT) 

It has been observed that importers abandon small portions of their consignments in the bonded warehouse which are usually damaged or defective in order to avoid payment of duty and taxes on it. This practice has put considerable amount of government revenue at stake and has also caused great hardship to the warehouse keepers. It has, therefore, been decided that 20% of the bonded goods relating to one particular consignment will be cleared against only one ex-bond bill of entry.

Where, for any reason, ex-bond bill of entry is completed in infringement of their orders the bonder should not deliver the goods and should personally bring the matter to notice of Assistant Collector or Deputy Collector for rectification. Such information must be conveyed in writing on the same day.
