PUBLIC NOTICE NO.24/1991(APPRAISEMENT)

SUB:        Exemption Certificates issued by Ministry of Foreign Affairs –Aversion of misuse validity of.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs-vide U.O. No P(IV)-3/5 /86 dated 26-01-1986 has clarified that validity Exemption Certificates was one month from the date of issue unless revalidated by the ministry. It has been observed that in a number of cases such exemption certification are presented to customs for partial release of goods mentioned there in after expiry of one month period even after several months or over a year, Acceding to such requests constitute violation of instructions contained in the aforementioned U.O. Note of Ministry of Foreign Affairs,

2.            It is, therefore, notified for information of all concerned that the exemption certificates issued by Ministry of Foreign Affairs should be presented and utilities within the stipulated period of one month. In cases of subsequent utilization for full or partial  quantities, the same be presented only after due revalidation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs failing which such certificates will not be entertained.
