PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 27/1992 (A) 

SUB:       SPEEDY CLEARANCE OF GOODS AND TO AVOID UNNECESSARY DELAY IN LABORATORY TESTS.

As a measure of speedy clearance of goods and to avoid unnecessary delay in laboratory tests it has been decided that henceforth items pertaining to the following categories shall not be sent for test and the bills of entry shall be completed by the groups without detaining such goods for test. In case of any doubt, however, the Principal Appraisers, after recording reasons thereof may sent the samples for test: --

(B)       CATEGORY OF GOODS.

1.    Dyes, the C&F value of which is US$10/-Kg. Or more.

2.    Goods imported in retail packing on which composition is marked (e.g. printing inks, domestic insecticide etc.)

3.    Item involving higher rates of duty i.e. 90% specially items pertaining to Chapter 33 & 35.

4.    Specified single chemicals of Chapter 28 & 29 having no bar on classification or valuation aspects due to purity/quality/grade etc.

5.    Roller printing inks imported by the industrial importers from the manufacturers whose names were supplied by I.T.E. Association.

(C)       ITEMS PERTAINING TO FOLLOWING CHAPTERS ALONGWITH P.C.T., WHICH REMARKS EXEMPT FROM TEST.
