PUBLIC NOTICE NO.11/1993 (EXPORTS).

SUB:    EXPORT OF SPORTS GOODS NOT MARKED WITH WORDS “MADE IN PAKISTAN”.

Paragraph 6 of Schedule IV of Export policy order 1992-93, Lays down that export of only such sports goods is allowed as are indelibly marked with the words “Made in Pakistan”.

2.         Some of the exporter had pleaded that this condition is no more valid. Accordingly, the matter was referred to Ministry of Commerce vide this. Collectorate letter No. SI/MISC/29-93/EXP-EW/228 dated 02.02.1993 for clarification. The Ministry of Commerce, vide their letter No. 2(.1)91-E.V dated 05.04.1993, has communicated that accordingly to the current Export policy the export of sports goods is permissible subject to the condition that sports goods should be indelibly marked with the words “Made in Pakistan;. The said letter also states that the provision is quite clear and that the said Ministry is not in favour of any relaxation thereto.
