PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 08/1996 (A) 

The Federal Bureau of Statistics, Karachi is facing difficulties in extracting information from the 5th copy i.e. "Statistical copy" of the Bill of Entry means for supply to the Federal Bureau of Statistics.

2. All the importers/clearing agents are requested to ensure that the following instructions are complied with.

      i.        All the changes/corrections/amendments regarding quantity, units of measure, value of import, country of origin/shipment, PCT No., S.I.T.C No etc. which are made on the original copy of Bill of Entry should invariably be recorded on the statistical copy of bill of Entry.

    ii.        The STATISTICAL COPY of B/E is filled correctly and legibly. All the columns of Bill of Entry Should be properly filled. No column should be left unfilled.

   iii.        On the statistical copy of Bill of Entry column No. 4 i.e. S.I.T.C. No. may invariably be filled correctly as indicated in column No. 8 of the Pakistan Customs Tariff. It may be ensured that this column is not left unfilled on the statistical copy.

3. Above instructions may be followed strictly. The officials of import section/appraising groups should ensure that if the information on the statistical copy of B/E is found wanting/detective in as much as the above instructions, the whole set of the E/E will be returned back to the importer/Clearing agent for necessary corrections/filling/amendments.
