PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 5/2000-(EXPORT)

In order to further facilitate the exporters under the No Duty No Drawback Rules notified vide SRO 844(l)/98 dated 23-07-1998 the Federal Government has issued the following amendment vide SRO. 381 (1)/2000 dated 17-06-2000 in Rules (5), after sub-­rule (8) of the SRO 844 (l)/98 dated 28-07-1998.

“(9) An exporter of engineering goods, holding a valid passbook, shall be allowed to export such engineering goods, in respect of which, input output ratios have been predetermined and specified by CBR with concurrence of Engineering Development Board. Where the goods exported are manufactured from duty and taxes paid inputs, the exporter shall inform the Collector of Customs concerned of the exporting station, at least three days prior to actual export of goods, providing him all the relevant details regarding the export order. Such exporter shall be entitled to import the aforesaid inputs, free of duty and taxes in accordance with the specified input output ratios, within one year from the date of export. The provisions of above rules (3) and (4) shall not apply to the importers the specified quantity of such inputs”.

2.         It is therefore, notified for information of all concerned that in order to avail the NDND benefit on inputs used in the manufacture and export of the engineering goods the manufacturers-cum-exporters of engineering goods having valid pass book may now apply to the Collector of Customs (Exports), Custom House, Karachi within the period envisaged in SRO 381(l)/2000 dated 17-06-2000 alongwith all relevant details of input and output ratios predetermined and specified by the CBR with the concurrence of Engineering Development Board in respect of the goods being exported which have been manufactured from duly and taxes paid inputs duly supported by the details of the export order against which the goods are being exported.
