PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 02/2004
SUB: ASSESSMENT OF PIGMENTS AND DYES DECLARATION REGARDING.
It has been noticed that in cases of imports of pigments & dyes, the invoices presented with Bills of Entry bear incomplete and insufficient description thus leading to difficulties in assessment of the goods. Instructions calling for the relevant information are 8 so not generally complied with.
2. It has, therefore, been decided that w.e.f. 10.03.2004 all bills of entry relating to figments & dyes, filed should bear the following declarations to enable the Custom-House to finalize assessments correctly and promptly:-

Name and nature of pigments & dyes i.e. direct reactive or vat alongwith trade name of the maker / manufacturer. |

2) |
Colour, Index number with Catalogue. |
|
3) |
Name of the maker / manufacturer if shipments are effected through intermediaries. |
|
4) |
Country of origin. |
|
5) |
Strength of the dye. |
|
6) |
Physical form of the products whether powder, paste or liquid. |
3. The Importers/Clearing Agents shall mention the above stated complete inscription in clear words on the bill of entry, failing which the bills of entry shall not be manifested by the Customer Service Centre.
4. In line with the above, the examination staff shall also specify and confirm the physical form of the products in their report to facilitate proper assessment by the Group.
5. The Appraisement Groups, at the time of assessment, shall ensure that all the particulars including the physical form are fed in to the computer alongwith complete description of the goods for future reference.
