PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 10/2005
In continuation of Public Notice No. 09/2005, dated 27.07.2005, read with Office Order No.01/2005, dated 27.07.2005, the following procedure is hereby prescribed for adjudication of cases made / to be made by various sections of Appraisement Collectorates:-
(i) Cases pertaining to mis-declaration of quantities and weight only shall be adjudicated by the Assistant / Deputy / Additional Collectors incharge of the / concerned Wharves / inland Customs Stations, keeping in view the monetary ceilings laid down vide section 179 of the Customs Act, 1969, read with SR0.909(I)/2004, dated 08-11-2004.
(ii) all other cases pertaining to mis-declaration of description, classification, ITC Contravention etc, shall be adjudicated by the Assistant7 Deputy /Additional Collectors incharge of the concerned Appraisement Groups in-line with the pecuniary ceilings specified in section 179 of the Customs Act, 1969, read with SR0.909(I)/2004, dated 08.11.2004.
(iii) cases where the amount of revenue involved exceeds the monetary ceiling of he Assistant Collectors posted in the Group or at wharf / inland Customs Station but is within the monetary ceiling of Deputy Collector, the following panel of Deputy Collectors is constituted to adjudicate the same:
(i) Mr. IrfanJaved D.C. Chapters 01-33
(ii) Mr. SanaullahAbro D.C. Chapters 34-66
(iii) Mr. JavedIqbal Butt D.C. Chapters 67-99
(iv) The principal Appraiser Group / Wharf concerned shall forward the cases mentioned in Para-(iii) above to the Deputy Collector concerned for adjudication.
Notwithstanding the above, the Collector of Customs (Appraisement) Custom House, Karachi may, in special circumstances, nominate any Assistant / Deputy / Additional Collector to adjudicating any case.
