PUBLIC NOTICE NO.02/2006

SUB:    PROCEDURE FOR CLEARANCE OF VEHICLE IMPORTED UNDER PERSONAL BAGGAGE, TRANSFER OF RESIDENCE AND GIFT SCHEMES.

In view of the practical difficulties arisen due to infirmity between the legal provision of maximum 10 days advance filing of Goods Declaration under section 79(1) of the Customs Act, 1969, viz-a-viz the provision of a period of 120 days for shipment of vehicles under Appendix-E of the Import Policy Order, 2005-06, it has been decided to restore the procedure notified vide Public Notice 21/2005 dated 29.09.2005.

2.         The Public Notice No. 1/2006 dated 14.01.2006, is accordingly rescinded with immediate effect
