STANDING ORDER NO. 08/1994 (EXPORTS) 

SUB:  PROCEDURE FOR FILING OF SUPPLEMENTARY CLAIMS.

A number of supplementary claims are regularly filed on the plea that:-

a)        The deduction has been made as a result of examination report, Laboratory report, variation in weight, blend ratio, short shipment, variation in quantity and description etc.;

b)        The deduction has been made by applying the value ascertained by the Valuation Committee;

c)        The deduction has been made due to short realization of sales proceeds.

2.         In order to streamline the procedure regarding receipt of supplementary claims are in para-I above the following procedure is laid down:-

(i)            The exporters will file supplementary claims alongwith application giving reasons for filing of claim.

(ii)          Prior to registration, the supplementary claims as in para 1 above will be scrutinized then Principal Appraiser, Incharge of Rebate group will affix stamp “Supplementary claim admissible”. The claim will then be forwarded to the counter for registration. In case the claim is found inadmissible, Principal Appraiser Incharge will intimate the exporter in writing, stating will intimate the exporter in writing, stating the reasons of the inadmissibility, be registered Post.

(iii)         Supplementary claims filed on account of revision of duty drawback notification will however continue to be registered directly at the counter. The counter clerk will check will check the copy of the revised notification and register the claim.

This order shall become effective from 1st November, 1994.
