SUB:              IMPORTS OF POLYESTER FABRICS FROM U.A.E.

There have been persistent reports that third country polyester fabrics are being imported from U.A.E. by circumvention the provisions of the Import Policy Order, which is severely hurting the domestic textile industry.

2.         All concerned, including importers, clearing agents and terminal operators are hereby, informed that, henceforth, with a view to streamline the import of polyester fabrics from U.A.E., only such import will be allowed wherein importers have submitted the certificate of origin by the manufacturer. The polyester fabrics importers from U.A.E. shall be viewed to be of banned origin, if not accompanied by the certificate of the Manufacturer establishing the origin. No certificate issued from any authority of U.A.E, confirming the origin of imported polyester fabrics, shall be acceptable in this regard.
