PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 08/2007

In order to ease congestion at QICT, KICT and PICT due to examination of scrap consignments and to ensure that import of all kinds of scrap is facilitated without compromising on revenue aspect. It has been decided that all consignments of scrap shall be cleared using one Customs through Model Customs Collectorate (Appraisement), Custom House, Karachi and Model Customs Collectorate Port Muhammad Bin Qasim with effect from 26.11.2007. Importers of scrap of all sorts are required to file the GD with clearance Collectorates and not CRN with MCC, Custom House Karachi after 26.11.2007.

2.         Shipping agents are required to declare all scrap consignments in B/L information subjected to PACCS as CFS LCL so that consignments are shifted from terminal to port areas of KPT and QICT/QFS for further processing.
