PUBLIC NOTICE NO 09/2007-MCC
On the request of the customs Clearing Agent Association, it has been decided that where the Collector of Customs (Appeals), Karachi has decided any case in favour of importers and Model Custom Collectorate, Karachi, intends to file appeal before the Appellate Tribunal (Custom, Sales Tax & Federal Excise), against the order-in-Appeal, the goods may be released on payments of adjudged duty/taxes and against post-dated cheque for the fine and penalty payable under Order-In-Original pending decision by the Appellate Tribunal, provided that a Custom Clearing Agent, representing the importer, shall furnish an undertaking, on a stamp paper, to the effect that he shall be responsible for payment of all liabilities, in case, the matter is decided in favour of the Collectorate and the post-dated cheque, furnished by the importer, is bounced back or not honored by the bank, such Clearing Agent shall pay fine and penalty and shall also be liable to action, including suspension of his license, under the Customs Clearing Agents Rules.
