PUBLIC NOTICE NO.21/2007 (A) 

SUB: IMPLEMENTATION OF RULE 302-A OF THE CUSTOMS RULES, 2001.

It is circulated for information of all concerned that under Rule 302-A of DTRE Rules notified through Customs Rules, 2001 two samples of imported input goods imported under DTRE Scheme shall be drawn at the time of import in the presence of Assistant Collector or Deputy Collector, Incharge of respective wharf / shed, which shall be signed by such Assistant Collector or Deputy Collector and DTRE approval number and date shall be endorsed thereon. These samples shall be forwarded to Group-1 (Presently handling DTRE) accordingly. One of the samples will be retained in the group for record and the other will be sent to Export Collectorate for necessary action at their end.

2.         The Assistant Collector or Deputy Collector, Incharge of respective Wharf/shed through the DTRE group Additional Collector incharge shall inform the Regulatory Sales Tax Collector who issued the DTRE approval about the cases where and discrepancy with reference to the description or other material particulars in respect of input goods imported under DTRE Scheme are different from what has been declared in Appendix-I of DTRE Rules. Notwithstanding anything contained above, the appropriate officer may also proceed against the importer/DTRE user under the relevant Provision of law.
