PUBLIC NOTICE NO.24/2007 (A)

SUB:              EXAMINATION FROMALITIES DRAWAL OF SAMPLES ETC.

It has been reported by Customs Committee that in certain cases categorization of mixed sheets / coils, as required under Public Notice 23/2007 dated 19.07.2007, is not possible owing to their jumbled and mixed physical condition. The Committee contends that the importers / clearing agents are facing difficulty in segregation CRC, HRC & GP coils / sheets and some of consignments are stuck up due to non-segregation and consequently non-weighment as required under said public notice therefore, in order to facilitate trade and to resolve this issue, the following further addition is hereby made at the end of para 2.

“However, the GDs of consignments of mixed lots of CRC, HRC and GP sheets / coils, wherein segregation and separate weighment of each category is not possible, will be routed through AC/DC Examination who will personally verify the description and its approximate weight."
