PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 02 OF 2008 

SUB:              EXPORT OF RICE. 

Ministry of Commerce vide its Public Notice bearing No. 4(2)/2008-E.1 date 30.04.2008 has notified that export of rice from Pakistan shall be allowed subject to pre-conditions:

a)         The FOB value of consignments shall be above the Minimum Export Price (MEP) specified for the types, as below:

i.              Super Basmati                      US $   1500/M. ton

ii.            Basmati                                  US $   1300/M. ton

iii.           IRRI-6 U                                 SS $   750/M. ton

iv.        IRRI-9 (Long Grains)           US $ 1000/M. ton’

b)         All export consignments shall be accompanied by a certificate of quality and specifications by Quality Review Committee of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan.”

2.         With a view to ensure the implementation of the Ministry of. Commerce Public Notice; it has been decided that henceforth all consignments for export of rice will be allowed for exports through the Model Customs Collectorate of Exports, Custom House, Karachi subject to the fulfillment of the conditions referred to in the Public notice.
