PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 03/2008

SUB:    EXAMINATION OF FABRIC CONSIGNMENTS IMPORTED FROM U.A.E. AND SINGAPORE

To review the import of the fabric from UAE, a meeting of stakeholders was held on 16/05/2007 under the chair of Collector of Customs (Appraisement). During the meeting issues concerning Public Notice No. 08/2007 (A) dated 12/03/2007 were deliberated and consequently. Public Notice No. 15/2007-A (III) dated 31/05/2007 for joint examination by the fabric experts’ committee for fabric import from UAE was prescribed. The procedure is also following in PaCCS for the Consignment of fabric imported from UAE.

2.         It has also been decided that henceforth besides UAE, all consignment of fabric imported from Singapore shall also be sent for joint Examination by the Fabric Committee as per the prescribed procedure for UAE.
