PUBLIC NOTICE NO.09/2005

Sub:     TRANSFER OF ADUJICATION FUNCTIONS TO THE REVENUE COLLECTORATE.

In pursuance of Board's directive issued vide letter No.2(25)/S(Adj)/2004, dated 20.07.2005, it is notified for information of all concerned that SRO 8(1)/2005, dated 01.01.2005, will stand rescinded with effect from 01.08.2005; from which date the Adjudication Collectorates shall also cease to exist. All adjudication functions in respect of cases pertaining to the Appraisement Collectorate, earlier performed by the officers of Adjudication Collectorate shall, thereafter, be transferred to and performed by the officers working in the Appraisement Collectorate in accordance with the provisions of section 179 of the Customs Act, 1969 and the Rules made thereunder.

2.         Cases pertaining to other agencies, authorized to operate under the relevant provisions of the Customs Act, 1969, viz-a-viz matters falling within the jurisdiction of the Appraisement Collectorate, shall also be adjudicated by the officers of this Collectorate.
