Public Notice No. 03/2009-Exports

            Instances have come to the notices wherein few unscrupulous elements have been able to manage the treasury cheques of genuine exporters deposited in their accounts opened fraudulently bearing the same titles as that of the exporters. This practice besides being liable to criminal prosecution and causing loss to exchequer also deprives the genuine exporters the timely disbursement of their duty drawback claims. In order to forestall such mischievous act and to ensure foolproof payment of rebates to the genuine exporters, it has been decided that henceforth no treasury cheque shall be issued to the rebate claimants furnishes the bank account title, account number and the Bank branch to this Collectorate on the company’s letter head signed by the Director of the company in case of Public & Private Limited Companies; and by partner and Proprietor in case of partnership and sole proprietor respectively. Exporters are advised in their own interest to expedite in furnishing of information to avoid any delay in payment of their claims on this account.
