PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 01/2009-(P)

During the course of reconciliation of revenue, it revealed that amount of duty & taxes was being collected in case at both of National Bank of Pakistan, Custom House Branch, Karachi. Due to cash transaction a huge amount of duty & taxes was misappropriated. Therefore, to plug such incidents it is circulated that payment of duty & taxes exceeding Rs.10,000/= (Rupees Ten Thousand) in respect of GDs / BDs processed at UAB EW/WW/NMB & UAB, JIAP shall only be deposited through pay order. Payment by cash or by cheque exceeding Rs.10, 000/= (Rupees Ten Thousand) shall not be accepted by NBP.

2.         The staff posted by National Bank of Pakistan shall ensure compliance of above order. The SPS incharge of Unaccompanied Baggage while signing out GDs / BDs shall first confirm / ensure that the payment has been made by Pay order only.

3.         Further procedure of reconciliation of revenue shall be followed as prescribed vide Order No.02/2009 dated 15-01-2009 issued by the Office of the Chief Collector (South), Custom House, Karachi.
