PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 12/2011 (A)

SUB:  Establishment of Customer Facilitation Centre (CFC)

            MCC Appraisement’s Office Order No. 272 / 2011-Estt. (A) dated 13.12.2011 (copy enclosed), forming an integral part of this Public Notice, represents a paradigm shift in the Collectorate’s working under ONE-CUSTOMS. The new business processes aim to facilitate trade through a transparent and state of the art module. However, in order to familiarize the trade with the new system, it has been decided that the procedure shall be adopted in a phased manner.

 Accordingly, all stakeholders are hereby informed that (i) new system for expeditious processing of goods declaration (GDs) as outlined in the aforesaid office order shall come into effect at MCC Appraisement , Karachi from Tuesday, December 20, 2011, and (ii) as a first step, only the GD’s of Appraising Group I & II (i.e. PCT Chapters 01-27 & 28-38) shall be accepted for processing at the newly established Customers Facilitation Centre First Floor, Custom House, Karachi. Rest of the Appraising Groups shall be included in the new module in a phased manner.

2.            The importers/clearing agents are advised to use the CFC for filing of their GDs as outlined above.
