PUBLIC NOTICE NO.05/2012(A)

SUB:  CLASSIFICATION OF SPRAYING/ SPRINKLER LORRIES IMPORTED UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF PARA-10(iv) OF APPENDIX-C OF IMPORT POLICY ORDER, 2009

In the wake of issuance of Public Notice No.02/2012, dated 06.11.2012, a number of representations were received in the Collectorate from relevant stakeholders, i.e. local truck manufacturers/assemblers and importers, reiterating their respective divergent viewpoints. After exhaustive meetings and detailed deliberation with the stakeholders, it has been decided that the issue of import of used sprinkler/spraying lorries and their eventual conversion into trucks after clearance from port actually requires multipronged policy decisions at the level of Ministry of Commerce and provincial Excise & Taxation departments. The Collectorate has already requested the Federal Board of Revenue Islamabad for taking-up the matter with Ministry of Commerce for policy decision.

2.         Under the circumstances, the Public Notice No.02/2012(A), dated 06.11.2012, is hereby withdrawn with immediate effect for being in contradiction with the conditions/requirements as laid down by the Ministry of Commerce vide para 10(iv) of Appendix-C of the Import Policy Order, 2009.
