PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 01 OF 2017
In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to rule 433, notified vide SRO 450(I)/2001 dated 18.06.2001 as amended vide SRO 564(I)/2017 dated 01.07.2017, the commercial importers of consolidated/multiple consumer product consignments, imported against a single index, in a mix of 3 or more items as specified in column (2) of Table below (with at least one(1) PCT from any of the product groups from S. No.1 to 45 as specified in column (3) of the table below), shall be required to file Goods Declaration for clearance of such goods only through a Customs Agent, licensed under Section 207 of the Customs Act, 1969 and the rules made there-under:

2. The Goods Declaration filed in violation of this order shall be liable to cancellation besides other punitive action under the relevant provisions of the Customs Act, 1969 and the rules made thereunder.
3. The Customs Agents shall be directly and equally responsible in terms of Rule 101 and 102 of the Customs Rules notified vide SRO 450(I)/2001 dated 18.06.2001 and relevant provisions of the Customs Act, 1969 and rules made thereunder.
4. This order shall be effective from the 20th day of October, 2017.
