PUBLIC NOTICE NO.01/2018- (P)

Sub:  NOTIFICATION OF DETERMINED / FIXED MAXIMUM RATES OF FEES AND CHARGES WHICH CAN BE CHARGED / COLLECTED BY THE LICENSEE UNDER THE SAFE TRANSPORTATION ENVIRONMENT PROJECT.

      The Licensing Committee, constituted vide Rule 3(vii) of the Tracking and Monitoring of Cargo Rules, 2012 notified vide SRO 413(I)/2012 dated 25th April, 2012, in its meeting held on 27.12.2017 determined the maximum amount of fee and charges which can be collected by the licensee(s), in terms of Rule 26(1) of the Rules ibid., for the following types of cargo: 

(i)        Afghan Transit Cargo,

(ii)      Cargo imported into or exported from Karachi Export Processing Zone.

2-         The maximum amount of fee and charges so determined by the Committee are tabulated below and are hereby notified with immediate effect in terms of Rule 26 (2) of said Rules:-

(i)

One-time cost of installation of Fixed Tracking Unit on Prime Movers (excluding livable taxes)

Rs.22,000/-

(ii)

Yearly Monitoring Cost for Fixed Tracking Unit on Prime Movers (excluding leviable taxes)

Rest. 6,000/-

(iii)

Hybrid (GSM + Satellite) Tracking unit for containers per trip (excluding leviable taxes)

PRs. 5,600/-

 

(iv)

GSM Tracking Unit for containers per trip for containers imported into or exported from Karachi Export Processing Zone (excluding leviable taxes)

Rs.1,200/-

 3-         For remaining streams of cargo covered under Rule-2 of the said Rules, the maximum amount of fee and charges to be collected by licensee(s) shall be notified as when determined by the Licensing Committee.

 4-         The above mentioned fee and charges are the maximum amounts that can be charged/collected and shall not be construed as fixed rates chargeable. No fee whatsoever shall be charged from any of the Collectorates of Customs or the Board.

 5-         All the Directors of Directorate General of Transit Trade and Collectors of Customs shall ensure that no other fees and charges in excess of the above notified amounts(s) are charged in their areas of jurisdiction.

 6-         In case of any dispute regarding collection of the above notified fee/charges reference can be made to Collector (Preventive)/Project Director by the aggrieved party. Decision of the Project Director / Collector (Preventive) shall be final and binding upon the disputing parties.

 7-         The Public Notice No. 01/2012-(P) dated 27.06.2012 on the subject is hereby rescinded.
