STANDING ORDER NO.16/1998 (PREVENTIVE).

SUB:  CUSTOMS DOCUMENTS HANDING OVER TO OTHER AGENCIES

It is reported that Customs Officers hand over Customs documents to officers and staff of other agencies, without approval of the approval of the superior officers. This has resulted in dislocation of work like Audit and also in loss of Customs documents.

2.        Henceforth, no Customs officer (including those posted at the gates) shall give any customs documents to any Agency or its staff member until and unless the said Agency the said Agency has submitted a written application demanding the document (to be specified) and also until and unless an officer not below the rank of a Deputy Collector of Customs has authorized, in writing, that the requisite documents beheaded over to the said Agency.
