PUBLIC NOTICE NO.01/2005 (A)

      Sub: TRANSSHIPMENT OF IMPORTED CARGO TO UP-COUNTRY DRY PORTS ON REGISTERED VEHICLES.

It is notified for information of all concerned that w.e.f. 01.07.2005, delivery of transshipment cargo from the port to upcountry dry ports shall not be allowed if the vehicle carrying transshipment cargo is not registered with Customs. All the bonded carriers are therefore, required to get such vehicles registered as provided under sub rule (3) & (4) of rule 329 read with sub-rule (7) rule 328 of Customs Rules 2001 prescribed vide chapter XIV of SRO 450(1)/2001 Customer

2.         Permission issued earlier vide Public Notice 21/2000(A) dated 14.11.2005 authorizing bonded carriers obtain registration coupon for transshipment in unregistered vehicles/ordinary trucks shall stand withdrawn w.e.f. 01.07.2005.
