STANDING ORDER NO. 03/2004-(APPG)

SUB:        HOLDING OF IRANIAN SOLO TRADE EXHIBITION IN KARACHI AT EXPO CENTER (KEC) UNIVERSITY ROAD, KARACHI FROM 05TH FEBURAY,TO 11TH FEBRUARY, 2004.

In pursuance of Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Karachi letter dated 28.01.2004 on the subject cited above regarding forthcoming Iranian Solo Trade Exhibition to be held from 5th February, to 11th February, 2004, the following procedure is prescribed to facilitate the clearance of goods to be imported by Iranian Exhibitors:-

i)               The Expo Centre (KEC) University Road, Karachi is declared as the Exhibition Site;

ii)            The Iranian Consulate, Karachi shall provide the list of authorized persons engaged in the Exhibition Management to deal with the goods imported for exhibition purpose;

iii)          Bills of Entry for home-consumption with complete description, quantity, value, and leviable rates of duty & taxes , along with invoices, packing list and undertaking by the Iranian Embassy will be filed in the Customer Service Centre, Custom House Karachi for clearance of goods imported for the subject exhibition;

iv)           The Appraising Group-VIII shall make assessment on the basis of declarations and above-referred documents and shall process the Bills of Entry in terms of H.S. Code No. 9920, of Pakistan Customs Tariff read with Serial No. 26 of Schedule-VI to the Sales Tax Act, 1990 under sub-section (2) of Section 80 of the Custom Act, 1969;

v)           Container Numbers and seal Numbers of the sealed containers shall be verified at the port, in case of containerized Cargo and marks & number will be verified in case of goods contained in the packages. Removal of the goods to the exhibition site shall be allowed under customs Escort;

vi)           The custom's examination staff deputed for this purpose shall examine the goods 100% at the Exhibition Site and make detailed inventory with a copy of the Appraising Group- VIII. The exhibition Management shall be responsible for arranging the goods (Firm-Wise) for this purpose;

vii)          On conclusion of the exhibition , the Exhibition management shall prepare a list of such good indicating description, quantity and value for the final account of the goods and file Bills of Export for the goods to be re-exported along with invoices and packing lists;

viii)        Before exportation, the processed bills of export shall be presented to the appraising Group-VIII for reconciliation;

ix)           Leviable duty and taxes in respect of goods consumed or retained in Pakistan would be deposited forthwith not later by week of culmination of the exhibition, against the respective assessment already made by relevant staff of Custom House or A.F.U. as the case may be against the indemnity Bond/ Undertaking of M/s Exhibitors;

x)            Bills of Entry with the documents mentioned at (v), pertaining to the goods to be imported by air, shall be processed by the customs Staff Posted at Air Freight Unit (AFU), in similar manner as mentioned above;

This issues with the concurrence of Collector of Customs, Preventive Collectorate, Custom House Karachi.
