Pakistan Mobile Production Plunges 34% in October on Inventory Glut

KARACHI: Pakistan’s mobile phone production slammed the brakes in October, crashing to 2.33 million units — down 23% MoM and 34% YoY — as bloated inventories forced factories to slash output to protect cash flow, PTA data revealed. Jan–Oct 2025 total hit 25.11 million (-4% YoY), with smartphones at 53% (13.2M) and 2G feature phones at 47% (11.9M). Despite the slowdown, local plants still crushed the market, supplying 94% of demand — way above the 5-year avg 77% and 9-year avg 52%, thanks to policy juice and ramped-up capacity. Infinix led the pack with 3.12M, followed by VGO Tel 2.82M, Vivo 2.27M, Itel 2.06M, Tecno 1.62M, Samsung 1.48M, Xiaomi 1.31M.
