Google has officially launched Google Wallet in Pakistan, providing a secure and convenient platform for digital transactions. The app, available on the Google Play Store, lets users store payment cards, loyalty cards, and boarding passes, simplifying the cashless experience.
Farhan Qureshi, Google Pakistan’s Country Director, emphasized the growing shift toward digital payments in Pakistan. Google Wallet will enable tap-and-pay purchases, online transactions, and easy access to travel passes.
Meanwhile, Google Pay is also making its debut in Pakistan on March 12, marking a major milestone in the country's journey toward a cashless economy. Google Pay will integrate with local banks and fintechs, allowing users to make payments, transfer money, and pay bills directly from their smartphones.
With over 230 million people and a digitally savvy youth population, Pakistan is an emerging market for digital financial services, and this move is expected to boost financial inclusion.
