TRG Pakistan Reports Rs3.92B Profit in FY25

KARACHI: TRG Pakistan Limited reported a profit after tax of Rs3.92 billion for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2025, marking a remarkable recovery from the Rs30.85 billion loss recorded in the previous year.

According to the company’s financial results, the turnaround was primarily driven by a Rs5.26 billion profit from equity-accounted investees in FY25, a stark contrast to the Rs35.91 billion loss in FY24.

Despite an operating loss of Rs544.98 million in FY25, the positive contribution from associates enabled TRG Pakistan to achieve a pre-tax profit of Rs4.71 billion, reversing the Rs36.23 billion pre-tax loss from the prior year.

The company paid taxes amounting to Rs790 million, resulting in net earnings of Rs3.92 billion.

Other comprehensive income also turned positive, with a Rs723.7 million gain from the translation of net investment in foreign associates, compared to a Rs1.37 billion loss in FY24. This led to a total comprehensive income of Rs4.65 billion, overturning the Rs32.21 billion loss from the previous year.

Earnings per share (EPS) surged to Rs7.19 in FY25, compared to a loss of Rs56.56 per share in FY24. Despite the positive financial results, TRG Pakistan’s stock closed 0.2% lower, aligning with broader market trends, after early gains.

TRG Pakistan has faced multiple legal challenges in recent years, including disputes over the valuation of its investments and regulatory compliance, particularly with its associate, The Resource Group International Limited (TRGIL). These cases primarily center on shareholder disputes and financial reporting practices.

Despite these challenges, TRG Pakistan has sustained robust financial performance, leveraging significant investments in technology, medical insurance, and IT-enabled services.
