Diesel Price Climbs to Rs402.96 Per Litre, Petrol Unchanged

ISLAMABAD: The government has increased the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs2.29 per litre to Rs402.96, effective October 31, 2026, while keeping petrol unchanged at Rs377.91 per litre.

According to the revised ex-depot prices announced by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), diesel has increased from Rs400.67 to Rs402.96 per litre.

Meanwhile, the price of motor spirit (MS), commonly known as petrol, remains unchanged at Rs377.91 per litre.

The revised rates will remain in effect from October 31 to November 2, 2026, under the federal government's petroleum pricing mechanism.

The latest adjustment has pushed diesel prices further above Rs400 per litre, increasing fuel expenses for transport operators, farmers and businesses that depend heavily on diesel.

High-speed diesel is widely used by heavy transport vehicles, including trucks and buses, as well as agricultural machinery, tractors and tube-wells. Higher diesel prices can increase freight and transportation expenses, potentially raising the cost of essential commodities and adding to inflationary pressures.

The increase could also put further pressure on goods transport companies, which play a major role in moving food products, industrial raw materials and other essential supplies across the country.

OGRA issued the revised ex-depot prices under the petroleum products pricing mechanism approved by the federal government.
