LPG Cylinder Rises to Rs3,470; Market Rates Hit Rs7,080

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has increased the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Rs14.73 per kilogram for November 2026, pushing the price of an 11.8-kg domestic cylinder up by Rs173.86.

According to a notification issued on Saturday, OGRA has set the new LPG price at Rs294.07 per kg, compared with Rs279.34 per kg in October.

As a result, the price of an 11.8-kg domestic cylinder has risen from Rs3,296.23 to Rs3,470.09, an increase of Rs173.86. The revised rates will apply nationwide from November 1, 2026.

The price adjustment is expected to increase household expenses, particularly in areas where piped natural gas is unavailable and residents depend on LPG for cooking and heating.

The increase comes ahead of winter, when gas consumption generally rises as temperatures fall and households require more energy for heating and other daily needs.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that LPG is being sold at prices reaching Rs600 per kg in some parts of the country, significantly higher than the official rate.

At this market price, an 11.8-kg cylinder would cost approximately Rs7,080, more than twice the officially notified price of Rs3,470.09.

The wide gap between OGRA's notified rate and reported market prices has raised concerns about LPG affordability and the enforcement of regulated prices, especially for households that rely heavily on the fuel.
